[Poster Presentation] Study on Wave Distribution Function Method with Markov Random Field Model for VLF Electromagnetic Waves

(in English) The wave distribution function (WDF) method was proposed for VLF waves in the earth's plasmasphere/magnetosphere. This method assumes that observed signals are generated by a continuum of superposed plane waves of different frequencies, propagated in different directions with no mutual phase coherence. However, the wave energy density is a so-called ill-posed problem and the solution is not determined uniquely. Therefore, we must assume an adequate model as a solution. In the new model, we introduce the Markov random field (MRF) as prior information of the wave energy density. Using computer-generated spectral matrix, the performance of the new model was evaluated.
