The Development of a NC Processing Educational System with a 3D-CAD System

(in English) This paper describes the new educational method using a 3D-CAD system. It is workshop practice which includes programming of NC processing data based on 3D-CAD data, and NC machining. A mechanism is given to students as an exercise, and they design the part models by using a 3D-CAD system. In the 3D-CAD system, NC processing data for manufacturing are determined automatically by the application tool, and these data of the cutter location are checked and simulated by the draw application. The NC data which stood the check is sent to NC control, and parts are machined by NC machine. This learning method enables students to have a comprehensive understanding of engineering work, which harmonized designing, structuring and machining.
