A study on the method to observe hijack route

(in English) BGP which is the protocol to exchange routing information between ASes on the Internet does not have the function which attests the justification of routing information. Therefore, the network obstacle that a route is hijacked has occurred frequently by the route advertisement with miss-operation or malicious setting. In related work, implementing the function of origin authentication of routing information, such as s-BGP, in BGP has been discussed. However, since changing a protocol has the large influence on the whole Internet, it requires much time for realization. Therefore, we are doing research aiming at real time and automatic detection of a hijack route without change of BGP from a viewpoint that we takes a measure at an early stage. In this paper, we propose the detection method of a hijack route, and report the observing system which implemented the detection method.
