Delay Analysis of the Selective-Repeat ARQ with the Per Flow Re-sequencing

(in English) SR (Selective-Repeat) ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest) is used to recover packet errors on a satellite channel effectively. This SR ARQ has a problem of large delay due to the re-sequencing function. To solve this problem, the PFRS (Per Flow Re-Sequencing) scheme is proposed, where the re-sequencing is performed independently for each flow, while the detection of lost packet and associated retransmission are performed
for a whole flows multiplexed over SR ARQ.
This paper models the SR ARQ protocol, where the maximum number of retransmissions is limited, by disintegrating the protocol into an aggregation of simple stop-and-wait protocols, it analyzes the delay distribution of retransmission and re-sequencing and shows the effectiveness of the PFRS scheme.
