A new texture descriptor using steerable filters

(in English) This paper presents a novel texture descriptor using steerable filter for retrieval of large image data. The proposed method estimates the texture direction accurately by using the steerable filter. Further more, our method not only classifies the types of edges (lineedges, stepedges), but also supports multiresolution analysis based on steerable filter. Experiments conducted on 500 natural images illustrate the possibility of the proposed method.
