Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As a counter measure scheme against eavesdroppers of wireless communication systems, the secret key agreement system has been developped using an Espar (Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator) antenna, which has been prototyped as a variable antenna for consumers, and the reciprocity theorem of radio wave propagation between a transmitter and a receiver. We eveloped and evaluated the prototype system in which the IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee wireless PAN (Personal Area Network) chip is mounted. As a result of experiments, we confirmed the advantage of the key generation scheme which is switching carrier frequencies and estimated that the success probabilty of the key generation is more than 99.998% if 128-bit secret keys are changed each three seconds and that it takes more than 1.15×10^6 years for an eavesdropper to decrypt the generated secret key.
