Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, the robot therapy is paid attention as an effective way of the “Healing”. From this point of view, we have been studying and developing a healing robot PDDIN. A new mind-related parameter named “mood parameter,” which is used to construct human/robotic mind, was proposed to improve the effect of the healing and communication skill of PDDIN. A robot with this parameter is named PDDIN2004. This paper describes the general concept of our PDDIN robot, the mood parameter, evaluation experiment in some details. The future of the PDDIN research project is also described.
