Estimation of Single Motor Unit from the Multi-Channel Surface EMG Signals Using Overcomplete Representations

(in English) As a means to analyze motor units (MUs), the method is used that each MU is separated using multi-channel blind deconvolution method for signals measured by a surface EMG. However, this method can’t extract more MUs than observed signals, moreover, it is difficult to apply prior knowledge about MUs because this method uses linear filters. This problem can be expected to be able to be solved by applying the multi-channel blind deconvolution method with overcomplete bases.
In this paper, we apply this method to EMG signals, and examine possibility to estimate single MUs.
