An experimental study of marine radar using narrow vertical beam antenna

(in English) Generally, to improve the system gain, transmitter power or antenna gain of radars is increased. To this paper, we develop antennas with narrow beam-width in vertical plane and high antenna gain. The field test is conducted using the developed antenna. It is found that the long-range detection performance of the new radar is improved, while the near-range detection performance of the new radar is kept to that of usual one.
