Generally, to improve the system gain, transmitter power or antenna gain of radars is increased. To this paper, we develop antennas with narrow beam-width in vertical plane and high antenna gain. The field test is conducted using the developed antenna. It is found that the long-range detection performance of the new radar is improved, while the near-range detection performance of the new radar is kept to that of usual one. |
