Aggressive Rank Accounting using Wavelength-State Information of Multiple Routes in Multi-Domain WDM Networks
Takuji Tachibana, Hiroaki Harai (NICT)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In multi-domain WDM networks, a lightpath establishment method based on
rank accounting has been proposed. In this method, a source node ranks wavelengths for each destination node in order to give priority for the lightpath establishment and establishes an end-to-end lightpath on a wavelength with higher rank. However, in the case where end-to-end lightpaths may not be established frequently between the source node and a destination one, the ranking of wavelengths for the destination node is not effective due to older wavelength-state information. In this paper, we propose aggressive rank accounting (ARA) method in which the source node updates the rankings for multiple destination nodes simultaneously. In the proposed method, when the source node obtains the latest wavelength-state information from a destination node, the source node computes accuracy of the obtained information for other destination nodes.Using the latest wavelength-state information and the accuracy, the source node updates the rankings for the destination nodes simultaneously and effectively. Numerical examples show that the proposed method decreases the blocking probability of multi-domain lightpath by 60\% in multi-domain tandem network.
