To realize a electromagnetic field probe that is capable of contributing to an electrical design, especially a low-noise design, of an LSI chip/package, we are developing the fiber-edge magnetooptic/electrooptic probe. In this paper, some basic performances of the probe are shown with some examples of its applications to microscopic circuits. Particularly, focused are on visualization of GHz-range magnetic field over 10-um-scale fine circuits, searches of undesired electromagnetic emission (electromagnetic interference) sources in an LSI-mounted board, visualization of RF electromagnetic field over an LSI chip and so on. |
