Observation of Electric Field Produced by Lighting Discharges in Akita Prefecture and its Application

(in English) In this paper, we presented the result observed by lightning discharge electric field observation system installed in the Akita prefecture and investigation of application using observed signals. The present study examined the following application as examples: the decision of the lightning strike point by the time-of-arrival method using surface-wave signal observed by the present system; the method to estimate an altitude of the ionosphere using the observed sky-wave. We can mention that our observation system is characterized by high-precise time synchronization using GPS time generator and high-resolution using large plate antenna.
