(in English) An optical disc system with a near-field optics has been proposed as a next generation beyond a Blu-ray disc system. In this paper, the key technologies in order to realize a near-field optical disc system are reported. Then, the feasibility of a disc with over 100Gbyte of capacity in a 12 cm disc and with over 100Mbps of a user transfer rate is shown. Finally, the techniques increasing the storage capacity and transfer rate are introduced.
