Propagation characteristics of directional coupler which was composed of two parallel line defects in two-dimensional pillar type photonic crystal were analyzed numerically by FDTD method and experimentally by model in 4 GHz microwave frequency. Higher output was obtained for frequencies, in which the device length corresponds with the half integer multiple of the coupling length, in both simulation and measurement. |
