A study of traffic performance in PON based access system

(in English) In this paper, we study the traffic characteristic of PON systems which is an optical access system for offering broadband multimedia service economically. We clarify the average value of the throughput for every ONU which is one of the traffic characteristics to the probable data transmission from two or more users. We derive the calculation method of the average value of the throughput for every traffic pattern of TCP and UDP in random data generating. Moreover, we also show the validity by the computer simulation.
