Transmission characteristics of 3-node Boolean subnetworks with random binary sequence inputs
Chikoo Oosawa, Kazuhiro Takemoto (Kyushu Inst. of Tech.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Random Boolean networks(RBNs) has been used as a model for complex system such as gene regulatory networks, neural networks, social interaction and biological evolution. Since the original RBN has neither inputs from external nor outputs to external system, the dynamical properties of RBN has been captured by collective behaviors from the entire network. We propose an analytical method for Boolean subnetwork with both input and output to understand the transmission characteristics. Even limited cases were investigated, we obtained variety of characteristic functions that denpend on both subnetwork topologies and combination of Boolean functions. Several characteristic properties are calculated from the characteristic functions.
