Applicability of JPEG 2000 to Revision Control of still image

(in English) Revision control system of still images is proposed, in which the memory capacity and the data transfer through the network can be reduced by using difference image between versions. As for compaction of images, JPEG2000 algorithm is employed mainly because of high coding efficiency and its feature of scalability. Experiments of the proposed system are carried out by using several calculation schemes of difference image. As a result, JPEG 2000 attains at most 7.28 times as high coding efficiency as the other algorithms.
