Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) To improve the spectral efficiency, the use of multilevel signals have much attracted recently. Because the M-ary ASK signal using multi-intensity levels has narrower spectral width than the binary signal at the same bit rate, it can improve the spectral efficiency in WDM transmission. To deal with the M-ary ASK signal, a M-ary ASK signal demultiplexer is indispensable. Previously, we have proposed the all-optical M-ary ASK signal demultiplexer using self-frequency shifting in a fiber. In this paper, we demonstrate the all-optical M-ary ASK signal demultiplexer. Experimental result shows that the quaternary ASK signal can be successfully demultiplexed into two 25 Gb/s OOK signals.
