(in English) Field emission characteristics of the boron carbon nitride (BCN) films deposited on the iron substrate at various temperatures are investigated. The growth rate of BCN films deposited on the iron substrate is higher than that deposited on the Si substrate because iron is a catalyst metal and accelerates the growth of BCN films. The surface roughness and carbon (C) composition ratio are examined by atomic force microscopic (AFM) observation and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurement, respectively. The C composition ratio increases with decreasing growth temperature. The surface roughness also increases with decreasing growth temperature. The turn-on electric field as low as 5.1 V/μm is achieved for the BCN film deposited at 200 ℃ on the glass substrate.
