Wide-area Perimeter Surveillance Sensor with Leaky Coaxial Cabels
Kenji Inomata, Takashi Hirai (Mitsubishi Electric Corp.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The microwave sensor with leaky coaxial cables for wide-area perimeter surveillance has been developed. This sensor searches targets by detecting the displacement amplitude by the target movement with leaky coaxial cables located along the border of the surveillance area. This sensor is able not only to detect the fact of intrusion but also to measure the intrusion position. However, the theoretical studies of this sensor or the propagation theories have not been discussed before. Therefore, we have tried to accomplish the fundamental study of the radiation principle of the leaky coaxial cable and the formulation of the theory of microwave sensor with leaky coaxial cables. Finally, we have shown the theoretical results using FDTD method and the experimental results using prototype model.
