A Study on Peak Power Reduction in Sub-Carrier Selecting (SCS) MC-CDMA Systems

(in English) The study of the Subcarrier Selecting(SCS)MC-CDMA systems spreading in time domain is performed as a candidate of the 4th generation mobile communications system. Since the peak power of a transmitted signal generally obtains a high value in multi-carrier transmission and the efficiency of a power amplifier falls, the reduction method is indispensable. For example, the Block Scaling method reducing the peak power per symbol has already been proposed. In the meantime, we propose the Chip Scaling method reducing the peak power per chip by paying attention to the time-axis spreading. However, even in the method the signal power falls compared to the original signal and the error rate characteristic changes for the worse. In this paper, we propose a technique raising the BER characteristic by re-distributing the reduced power to other chips with low peak power.
