Performance evaluation of Pico-cell experimental system using frequency allocation algorithm

(in English) Pico-cell based wireless packet access has potentiality of reducing its bits cost
by utilizing simple base station and simplified channel frequency allocation design for base station.
However, frequency channel interference between/among adjacent cells becomes very serious in the actual system.
In this case, throughput performance of the pico-cell system would degrade by low Carrier to Interference Power Ratio (C/I).
To overcome this drawback, novel channel allocation approaches would be required.
In this paper, a channel allocation algorithm with centralized approach is newly presented.
The proposed algorithm works based on interference information reported by each Subscriber Stations (SS).
Both of computer simulation results and experimental results based on implemented equipment clarify
the effectiveness of the pico-cell system.
