| (in English) | We demonstrate a 1.3/1.49/1.55 um wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) transceiver module using silicon bench-based planar lightwave circuit (PLC) hybrid integration, in which an LD, a PLC-WDM filter, and optical fibers are passively aligned on a silicon optical bench. We use the simple mechanical passive alignment method that aligns a notch on the PLC-WDM filter surface and a V-groove on the silicon bench, PLC-WDM filter is mounted on the silicon bench. We successfully achieved a receiver sensitivity of -28.5 dBm at a bit error rate (BER) of 10-12 at 1.25 Gb/s and the power penalty was only 1.2 dB. | |
