Waveband path virtual concatenation with contention resolution provided by transparent waveband conversion using QPM-LN waveguides

(in English) Simultaneous waveband conversion of 10 Gbit/s×64 wavelengths = 640 Gbit/s signal using quasi phase matched Lithium Niobate waveguide and its contention resolution functionality together with optical switch enables grouped-wavelength-path switching. Mechanism of nonlinear crosstalk generation in QPM-LN waveguide conversion is studied, first order crosstalk is eliminated by separating second harmonic generation process of fundamental pump and difference frequency generation process of input waveband signal, and second order crosstalk caused by pump depletion is suppressed by optical power designing of input signal light and pump powers. 16 ports optical switch together with polarization insensitive waveband converter successfully demonstrate 10 Tbit/s scale optical path switching capability.
