Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Medium-frequency (MF) and high-frequency (HF) ground wave propagation will continue to be one of the most important means for a long distance communications. In the paper, we shall examine both theoretically and experimentally the ground wave propagation over three-section mixed-paths including the tropospheric ducting effects. We will show that the mixed-path theory agrees very well with the experimental results performed in the Kanto area and the Tokyo bay. Also shown is the enhancement of the electromagnetic field in the long distance propagation over the sea, due to the existence of the troposphere surface duct.
