This paper studies an application of cellular-automata to an extraction algorithm of desired target in two-dimensional images.
The image processing function is based on a set of some special rules.
The rules are a kind of Boolean function and govern dynamics of the cellular automata.
Adding some novel rules to the existing rules, the image processing function is improved and we can extract wider class of targets than conventional algorithm. The algorithm performance is confirmed through elementary numerical experiments. Application to noise reduction is also discussed. |
