Segmentation of Natural Color Images Using Fuzzy-Region Growing Algorithm

(in English) In this paper, we propose fuzzy-region growing algorithm to segment natural color images that suppresses an excessive partition. Segmentation of natural color images containing man-made objects and natural objects sometimes produces the excessive partition due to the texture regions, though it is required to reduce unnecessary regions as well as accurate segmentation. The purpose of the proposed method is to provide rough segmentation of texture regions while maintaining important edges by using fuzzy inference to integrate various features. The proposed method try to calculate the smoothed color features, texture features and edge features from an original image and to segment the image by fuzzy-region growing algorithm.
