| (in English) | Recently, the mobile nodes are widely used for e-mail and web access. This mobile communication includes the information transmission from mobole nodes. In the mobile communication environment, it is pointed out that the TCP communication throughput may be reduced by the unnecessary congestion controls invoked by the packet losses over wireless links due to transmission errors and handoffs. This paper proposes an approach for improving TCP throughput for the case where mobile nodes work as data senders. This approach uses ELN (explicit loss notification), the aggressive data retransmission using SACK (selective acknowledgment), the rollback of unnecessary congestion control at timeout retransmission using the newly introduced timeout flag, and the coordination with Mobile IP handoff procedure. This paper also gives the results of performance evaluation using software simulatior, which shows that the proposed approach establishes the better throughput than the conventional TCP, such as Reno and SACK. | |
