We have been developing a fully automated physiological monitor installed in bath, lavatory, and bed for home health care. In order to evaluate clinically the usefulness of the system and investigate its application to monitoring system for condition of hospital patients, we have developed a prototype system at the hospital in Toyama and measured the patients’ various vital signs. From the results, the system could measure ECG and respiration during bathing, weight change during urination, heartbeat and respiration during lying in bed. Therefore, the system can be useful means for not only home health-care, but also support on the medical care. |
