The Evaluation of High-speed Serial Communication System by Using FTN Simulation Technology

(in English) We describe a FTN simulation technology for high-speed serial interface which is high-accuracy behavior model based on analysis of frequency, time, and noise, and is constructed by using a numerical computation tool MATLAB/Simulink. FTN simulator computes the transmission wave in time domain for transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx), and in frequency domain for transmission line. Tx and Rx are constructed on the frequency characteristics, input-output characteristics and delay block, and the transmission line is characterized in S-parameter. Error-free operation of the 6.4Gbps transmission system has been demonstrated on transmission line with 19.5dB loss at 3.4GHz by applying FTN simulator.
