On the Channel Estimation for OFDM Systems Based on Pilot Block Transmission
Vladimir Braquet, Wladimir Bocquet (France Telecom) RCS2007-224
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, pilot aided channel estimation for OFDM systems based on pilot block transmission is addressed. The channel estimation based on block type pilot arrangement is performed by sending pilots at every subcarrier. In this technical report, the channel estimation is studied through different algorithms for estimating channel at pilot frequencies. The Least Square (LS) estimator, the LS with time domain noise canceller, the Least Minimum Square (LMS) with frequency domain smoothing and the RKHS based LS for multi carrier transmissions will be presented and then evaluated both in term of Bit Error Rate performance and Minimum Square Error (MSE). Simulation results show that with a limited additional complexity cost, the channel estimation based on RKHS framework for pilot block OFDM transmission is an appropriate solution to mitigate the impact of noisy transmission.
