A construction method for network topology using clustering method

(in English) In recent years, it is shown that the degree distribution of
large-scaled networks, such as the Internet and P2P networks, exhibits
power-law attribute. BA model is one of generation methods for
topologies that exhibit the power-law attribute. One important
property of BA model is that the average hop-distance between nodes is
low, which certainly improves the network performance (e.g., efficient
search in P2P networks). However, BA model also have a property that
topologies are fragile against failures of nodes that have many links.
Furthermore, BA model requires the degree information for all nodes in
networks. That is, BA model requires the global information for
constructing topologies.
In this paper, we develop a
generation model using local information for constructing large
networks, and evaluate our proposal in terms of high tolerance to
system failure. To achieve this, we use clustering algorithm for dividing networks
into many parts, which is called cluster and each cluster has nodes
that share the same cluster ID. The results of our simulations show
that the network's tolerance to the system failure by attacked nodes
with many links became higher efficient than using BA model algorithm,
but that the network's tolerance to the random failure became lower
than using BA model algorithm.
