A proposal for reducing congestion on location registration message of mobile network
Jun Hirano (Panasonic Corporation) IN2008-82
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) NEMO Basic support was drawn up in The Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF) Network Mobility(NEMO) Working Group as basic protocol for mobile network. Also, route optimization for mobile network is now raised for extended function on mobile routers.
In a case that a Mobile Router(MR) performs route optimization among Mobile Network Nodes(MNN) and Correspondent Nodes(CN), the traffic might be congested by location registration messages because MR has to send many of route optimization signaling when these processes are initiated simultaneously after handover.
This paper describes a proposal that can avoid congestion between MR and Access Router(AR) by sharing information for route optimization with MR and AR, which can establish trust relationship with each other, and thus reducing messages for route optimization.
