It is known that EEG wave changes according to the mental activity such as imagination, cognition, etc.
These changes (e.g. wave form, frequency power, etc.) related to the events are used for brain computer interface (BCI).
Morphological bandpass filter is a nonlinear filter and output of morphological filter is influenced hardly by impulsive input,
while output of linear filter is influenced by impulsive input.
Therefore, morphological analysis is more suitable for feature extraction than linear filter since impulsive EEG signals have important information about motor imagery.
In this paper, we try to extract the feature of mental activity concerned with cognition and motor imagery from EEG
by using morphological multiresolution analysis.
The designing method of these structures and the method to pattern identification are discussed. |
