Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have developed an endoscope system that emits laser beams from the distal end and measures the distance to an object by detecting laser beam spots and using the triangulation method. In this note we propose a technique for displaying a cross section of an object using our endoscope system. On the assumption that the motion of the endoscope should be kept horizontal while a cross section is displayed, we calculate the displacement between two consecutive endoscopic images using their optical flows, and display a cross section using those displacements and the distances of the laser spots.
