| (in English) | NICT is conducting research on Universal communication since April in 2006. In this research, we are aiming at overcoming various barriers which stand in our way to communicating with people in remote places anytime and anywhere. We are studying technologies of natural language processing(NLP), such as speech translation and creation of language infrastructure. We are also studying technologies of ultra-realistic communication for creating natural and realistic communication though transmitting multisensory information such as vision, sound, touch and smell. In this paper, outline of ultra-realistic communication research is introduced. | |
