Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) can expand the communication range of terminals by wireless connected Access Points (APs). Although these APs can connect one another, if they have multiple wireless devices,it is necessary to optimize the APs’ layout design for avoiding radio interference and for traffic engineeing. For solving this problem, there are some methods for channel assignment and AP network design using combinatorial optimization problems. However, these methods do not consider the network extendability after starting operation, and do not aim to search the solution of flexible networks. This paper proposes a link structure method considering extendability on WMNs. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by using quantitative evaluations. |
