In studying the neural mechanisms underlying color motion processing, physiologically isoluminant stimuli have been used for each subject. In this study, we estimated the physiologically isoluminant points for three human subjects by means of ocular following responses, which are elicited with ultra-short latencies by sudden motion of a visual scene. We found that the physiologically isoluminant points depended on individual subjects; in one subject, this point was near the physically isoluminant point but in the others, far from it. We further examined whether the physiologically isoluminant point was affected by spatial or temporal frequency of the visual stimulus. We found that the physiologically isoluminant point of each subject was almost independent of spatial or temporal frequency of the visual stimulus. |
