Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Contraction of the heart is controlled by the electrical excitation of the cardiac cell membrane. Abnormality in conduction of excitation in cardiac tissues could cause changes in the beating function of the heart which is known as arrhythmia. One way to understand the underlying mechanisms of arrhythmias is to develop a comprehensive mathematical cardiac tissue model. Connecting large numbers of cell model units to form a tissue model requires plenty of computational time for the dynamic simulation of the mechanism. In order to reduce the simulation speed we developed an analog-digital Hybrid model of a cardiac cell based on Luo-Rudy model for the action potential generation in a mammalian cardiac ventricle. In the near future, we aim toward a real-time simulation of the cardiac action potential conduction thereby studying this mechanism in a large scale.
