ESTIMATION OF DRIVER'S ACTIONS WITH ECOC METHOD FROM AIR MASS FLOW WAVES
Akihiro Imai, Naoki Tokitsu, Koji Oguri (Aichi Prefectural Univ.) ITS2009-6
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper proposes a novel method to recognize driver's actions by measuring signals with air mass flow sensor on the seat belt. In the previous study, Ito et al. have tried to distinguish driver's actions by measuring signals with pressure distribution sensors on the seat. However, the previous study is concerned about a large difference of identification accuracy depending on the day. Therefore, We focuses on the seat belt since there is a little change of wearing form. As a result, the accuracy at a different day with our proposed method is over 90%. Accordingly, this technique is quite effective and useful to recognize driver's action.
