Recently, many integration methods of linear microphone array signal
processing and nonlinear signal processing for noise reduction have been studied. These methods can achieve high noise reduction, whereas nonlinear signal processing causes musical noise that is an artificial harsh distortion. In this study, aiming for high quality noise reduction, we propose a musical-noise-controllable array signal processing algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, first, channel-wise spectral subtraction is applied before adaptive array signal processing. Next, we control the subtraction strength parameter in spectral subtraction according to the amount of generated musical noise. In this paper, we reveal that the proposed algorithm enables the high-performance and high-quality noise reduction. |
