Both Doppler diversity on multipath fading channels and path diversity with fractional sampling (FS) in OFDM receivers have been investigated. These diversity schemes can be employed at the same time. However, the complexity of a combining scheme increases. In this report, a sampling point selection (SPS) scheme for the Doppler diversity in FS-OFDM receivers is proposed. This scheme estimates the SNR of the subcarriers after MMSE equalization and selects the best sampling point among the fractional samples. Numerical results through simulation show that the proposed SPS scheme can achieve both Doppler diversity and path diversity without additional discrete Fourier transform, noise whitening, and diversity combining. |
