This paper examines the first study of sensing runners in daily training with wearable GPS navigator with heartbeat rate monitor, and analyzing the correlation of the runner's speed, heartbeat rate, and the degree of slopes. The largest absolute value of correlation factors was found between the speed and the heartbeat rate, but the correlations parameter was not so high, since the sensor data were very noisy. We also considered other environmental properties, such as temperatures and speeds of wind, those of which were obtained from the Japan Meteorological Agency. As a result, it was found that the runner's speed and the wind speed had higher correlation than the others. This result figures out a weak possibility to use runner's speed for estimating wind speeds at the locations.. |
