Effects of thin-film phases and dopants in electrical and optical propaties of polymer light-emitting diodes utilizing Polyfluorene

(in English) Polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) utilizing poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) as the emission layers were fabricated, and investigated the effect of thin-film phases and dopants on these emission properties and transient properties. The amorphous and $\beta$ phases were fabricated by spin-coating method and by thermal printing method respectively. Poly[(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-co-(1,4-benzo-{2,1’,3}-thiadiazole)] (F8BT) was used as the functional dopant. In the results, the PLED with $\beta$ phase PFO had the higher current efficiency and the shorter rise time than that with amorphous phase PFO. For the PLED with F8BT doped in PFO, the device characteristics of the current density and the rise time were also improved.
