The Study on Large Mode Area Holey Fiber

(in English) In the next generation large capacity transmission system, the low non-linearity and low loss optical fiber is required. Therefore, we investigated the holey fiber which met to the requirements. The trial holey fiber has a ultra large effective area compared with the conventional SMF, and also shows practical bending loss characteristics. We also confirmed that the trial fiber has a low transmission loss with a loose tube cable.
