The Priority Policy Program 2008 of Japanese government specifies measures of informatization in the medical field, which includes the establishment of the infrastructure for every citizen to manage and utilize his own health information. By such base it is easy to manage health information through a lifetime having full control of the information. Moreover, submission of the accumulated information when consulting in the medical institute makes it possible to realize the evidence-based medicine by the provision of the long-term variation in patient’s state of health. We have studied e-P.O.Box to implement the infrastructure and developed a personal health information management system based on the e-P.O.Box concept. In this paper we report result of a survey on the consciousness of the personal health information management system and discuss about the consequences. |
