Terahertz(THz) radiation with feature of radio and optical waves has much interest due to its applications such as medical and security detections. Developing compact, tunable, and coherent THz sources is essential foe these applications. To meet this requirement, we’ve been investigating THz emitters based on plasmon resonance that overcomes the frequency limit in conventional electron devices. In addition to experimental demonstrations, theoretical work is needed to elucidate the physical mechanism of THz emitter. We report the first simulation results using Monte Carlo analysis of opticalpulse responses for our proposed plasmon-resonant THz emitter. |
