Implementation of an Interior Coordinate System Based on Behavior Observation in Catalog Browsing

(in English) Though plenty of information is trying to be digitalized, paper-based catalogs are still used in interior coordination scenes. Our objective is to support in early stages of creative knowledge work such as selecting some images from various kinds of data in catalog. We tried to construct an interior coordination support system that users can enjoy selecting materials with simple operations. To decide system requirements, we recorded actual coordination scenes using catalogs, and analyzed human behavior by time sampling method and think-aloud protocol. We improved our proposed search interface ‘Concentric Ring View’ that users can retrieve from ambiguous information needs, and implemented an interior coordinate system to combine floor materials, wallpapers, ceiling materials, and curtains.
