Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Aiming at short distance broadband communications, millimeter-wave WPAN and WLAN using 60GHz unlicensed-band is recently drawing a great deal of attentions. Even though a huge amount of frequency spectrum is available in millimeter-wave band, MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) transmission will be required to achieve 10Gbit/s or higher transmission speed. This motivates the authors consider millimeter-wave MIMO transmission using orthogonal vertical and horizontal polarization wave. Especially, in indoor desktop environments, channel model needs to be considered a direct wave and a strong reflected wave from the table. This report describes an orthogonal-polarization based MIMO channel model using Ray-tracing method for indoor desktop environments. Furthermore, we have evaluated the BER performance of a single-carrier modulation scheme, which is adopted for IEEE802.15.3c standard, using a channel model based on a Ray-tracing method.
