The monitoring and control technology for the industrial field has evolved greatly by IT. On the other hand, there are problems with increasing cables in plants, and the time is ripe for applying the wireless to the industrial system. For industrial applications, we developed the protocol stack based on TCP and 6LoWPAN which makes it possible to use IPv6 on the wireless sensor networks. We designed the compact architecture including the socket interface and the minimum functions which is important for the high reliability communication, such as the retransmission and the flow control. We got the prospect of practical use in the industrial field, as we proved that the maximum throughput is about 20kbps and the packet transfer rate is over 99% by our implementation and performance evaluation. |
